The City of Fond du Lac Auxiliary Police Volunteers are a specialized unit and a division of the Fond du Lac Police Department.  The unit currently consists of twelve active officers, two of which are Sergeants.  Some of the unit's duties and functions consist of security at football, basketball, and hockey games as well as various school dances.  The unit also assists in traffic control for all city parades and car shows.  They provide security at company picnics, church picnics and the Walleye Weekend festival.  The unit is also utilized for various directed areas of patrol throughout the city and is on call for such emergencies as large fires, tornadoes, floods, lost children and major traffic problems.

The Auxiliary Police Volunteers meet once per month and discuss past and upcoming events.  All officers have a continuing training program which include proper techniques in self-defense, handcuffing, OC pepper spray, effective communications and legal updates.  The officers are issued uniforms and all necessary equipment.

The Fond du Lac Auxiliary Police Unit has proven to be very successful and will continue to provide and maintain the highest level of service to the community.  Many of the Auxiliary Volunteers have gone on to become full time officers with the City of Fond du Lac and other police agencies.  For more information or to inquire about becoming a part of this team contact Captain Steve Klein at 920-322-3709.
